Feature Focus: Why a 27″ monitor is the sweet spot for modern gaming

An icy-themed image featuring Chillblast's 27" monitors

Published: February 2026 Format: Product Editorial

A feature piece making the case for 27″ monitors as the ideal size for modern gaming setups. With this post, I covered resolution balance, immersion, desk ergonomics, and the key performance specs worth caring about, with the Chillblast Cryo monitor range as the natural conclusion.

Unlike the game-tied pieces I had previously done, this one didn’t have a release date or campaign forcing my hand, so it was more about building a genuinely persuasive case from first principles rather than reacting to news.

The Writing Process

A product explainer, this blog post had a specific commercial purpose behind it. Chillblast had recently released their own range of 27″ monitors, and the goal was to write something that could naturally lead readers towards it without it reading as a thinly veiled advert. Nobody wants to read “Look at our shiny new monitor; please buy it”, least of all me writing it.

I worked closely with the systems manager and sales teams to line up the right selling points for the actual product, making sure anything I claimed about it was accurate and genuinely worth highlighting. Alongside that, I researched gaming blogs, subreddits, and other 27″ monitor product pages to understand why this size has become such a sweet spot for gaming setups and what people are actually looking for when they shop for a monitor.

The challenge was striking a balance between genuine insight and product placement. I wanted the piece to be actually useful and informative as to the benefits of 27″ monitors, with the Chillblast monitors feeling like a natural conclusion rather than the entire point of the article.
