As part of a wider marketing team, I was tasked with writing the product page copy for Chillblast’s ORIGIN series PCs, a refresh of a line of systems inspired by Chillblast’s ‘black box PC’ beginnings.

This particular page was for the flagship water-cooled gaming PC, but I wrote the story for the PCs and product landing page, including the hero copy, feature sections, and spec storytelling, balancing technical communication with brand voice.

This was a massive team project that involved me working heavily with all departments to create a brand-centric luxury system.

The brief was performance and prestige: no RGB, no flash, just power, which meant trusting the specs to do a lot of the talking.

The Writing Process

The Obsidian line was a different kind of brief from the other PCs found on the Chillblast site. This wasn’t just a product page; it was meant to be the quintessential Chillblast PC, the best of the best, with the brand positioning it as sleek and cool performance rather than flashy lights and spectacle.

Obviously, this meant the page was incredibly brand-heavy, with every word needing to genuinely sound like Chillblast, not just describe a product that happened to be made by them. Every draft went through heavy scrutiny to make sure it captured the brand’s voice and history properly, which meant a lot of rewriting and refining until it felt right.

This was also one of the biggest team efforts I worked on. Content, systems, sales, and graphics were all involved in getting the launch right, and with a deadline looming and the directors wanting it out and selling, there wasn’t much room for a slow, considered process. We had to move fast while still getting every detail right, which is a difficult balance to strike on a product this important to the brand.
